What is an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)?

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) is an intensive, evidence-based program designed to help individuals suffering from addiction. This treatment approach combines therapeutic activities such as individual and group counseling sessions with a focus on relapse prevention and building healthy relationships. As an outpatient program, a person will only need to attend weekly sessions instead of staying in a residential facility overnight.

Our intensive outpatient treatment in NJ uses a faith-based approach to provide comprehensive support for those struggling with substance abuse and addiction. IOP offers intensive, intensive care tailored to each individual’s needs including medical detox, one-on-one therapy, group therapy, family counseling, 12-step meetings, Christian-based elective groups, and more. We cater to all our clients to provide the very best treatment we can.

What to Expect During Our Intensive Outpatient Program

Clients in our intensive outpatient program (IOP) meet either three, four, or five days per week for three hours per day, depending on the level of need.

Day sessions run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Monday through Friday. Evening sessions are from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday to accommodate those with busy schedules during the day or who have other obligations. In our IOP you can also expect:

  • Individualized intensive care tailored to each person’s needs.
  • Group and one-on-one therapy sessions to help identify triggers and develop coping strategies
  • Christian-based pillars to help the healing process and set a foundation for the future
  • 12-step meetings and support from peers in a similar situation
  • Medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for those who need it
  • Family counseling to learn healthy relationship skills, communication patterns, and more

Our intensive outpatient treatment in NJ is designed to provide the structure needed for successful recovery. Our clinicians and counselors are here to provide compassionate guidance through this difficult journey, helping individuals gain the spiritual tools they need for long-term sobriety. We strive to create an environment of healing and hope that leads to lasting success in addiction recovery. With our intensive outpatient treatment center in NJ, we can help you overcome your addiction and build healthier relationships with your family, friends, God, and yourself.

Therapy Used During IOPs

Therapy plays a big part in our treatment process, along with the faith and spiritual aspects of the journey. At our outpatient program, we believe that combining evidence-based treatment with spiritual and faith-based approaches is key to a successful recovery journey. Our therapy services include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)
  • Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT)
  • Individual therapy
  • Group therapy
  • 12-step programs
  • Family therapy
  • Christian-based elective groups

During this time you will work with professional and experienced therapists and counselors with decades of experience. Treatment is about creating a bond and setting a person up with all the tools they need to live a life free of addiction and substance abuse. We strive to make the journey as effective and smooth as possible.

Who is Best Suited For an IOP?

Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a great fit for those looking to make the transition toward lasting recovery. Rather than an inpatient stay, this program offers individuals personalized guidance and daily support without having to spend nights away from home.

However, it may not be suitable for every situation as severe cases of addiction or mental health issues.

If a person requires more intensive treatment plans, then a PHP program may be better. Additionally, if a person’s home life may be a cause for triggers or relapse, another form of treatment may be recommended. We understand how hard making these decisions can be; our dedicated staff will always provide care and understanding throughout your journey toward sobriety. As always, treatment is not a one size fits all situation; we’re always here to accommodate and pick what works best for you and your loved ones.
